Moving Forward with Stronger English Skills
This course is designed for learners who are approximately 13-18 years old. By joining this course, students deepen their English language proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This will not only help them academically in school, but also to ace their scholarship interviews for college or university admission. Students will be guided towards their Cambridge examinations such as KET, PET, FCE, and CAE with tips and strategies that will enable them to be ready and confident for the test. Although the secondary level is crucial for students to excel in the Cambridge assessments and gain certification, students will also progress in a broader language learning journey through various in-classroom and online activities that will enhance their learning experience. These students will participate in collaborative learning, presentations, group work and even mini research projects that prepare them to be well-informed individuals who can confidently participate in social, casual and formal discourse professionally. We encourage early enrolment into our programmes, especially at the secondary level because language learning is a step by step process that will build students’ confidence in mastering the skills they will need inside and outside the classroom.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Read, write, listen and interact using basic phrases and expressions.
- Introduce and answer basic questions about themselves and acknowledge responses in conversations.
- Read and write simple articles and texts and correspond through letters and emails on everyday topics.
- Show awareness of opinions and mood in spoken and written English, and respond appropriately.
